Each event starts with an education segment conducted in a location specified by the church or from the pulpit. The teaching is conducted by a hepatitis C trained lecturer who imparts valuable information regarding hepatitis C and the other hepatitis viruses. Education is a key aspect of this program. Once the education session has ended, participants move to the administration area to register and give consent for the test.

Participants receive a finger prick blood test; tests are sent to the lab and results are available in approximately three weeks. After testing is completed, participants receive refreshments to round out their testing experience.
